Jade is no longer seen as an old fashioned gemstone and it is being used in many contemporary jewellery designs. Participants will learn how to make their own Ping An buckle jade and silver ring. They will learn how to use the workbench equipment to hammer the silver and set the jade into the design. Participants become experienced with metal cutting, polishing and stone setting. Every person will receive one real silver sheet and one piece of Icey Jade (冰種) to set into the ring. The tutor is a professional jade jewellery designer and will share her knowledge of Jadeite tradition and symbolic meaning in Chinese folklore. The Pink An buckle signifies peace, happiness and love, making it a perfect blessing for loved ones.
