A book is like a friend. We understand the world and life, or even observe ourselves through texts, and have a deep realization of oneself that we are not alone. PMQ invites different people from design and culture to recommend a book, so that you can enrich yourselves as book therapy.

Why would you recommend this book?

/ There are several times in life that deviate from the track, and these are the times when the possibility of unlimited extension takes place. /

Lui Ka Chun | 字字研究所: Well-known editor in the Japanese magazine industry Kyoichi Tsuzuki shared his experience of being a freelancer for a long time in the past 40 years to his fellows. As early as the 1970s, he worked as a special editor for trend magazines "POPEYE" and "BRUTUS", and visited the United States alone to discover contemporary art that has not been explored by mainstream society.

When Japan’s economy took off and high-paying jobs waved hands to Kyoichi Tsuzuki, Tsuzuki moved to Kyoto. He went cycling to Kyoto University to listen to the history of architecture and art. In the evening, he had a drink at home and discussed philosophy with a group of young people, but he was touched. Determined to help a new generation of artists, he published dozens of "ArT RANDOM" that shocked the cultural world.

He never had meetings at work, never made plans, he only stays curious and persists in exploring interesting topics. Leave himself "outside the box” to create more possibilities. In mainstream society, he constantly looks for a small piece of independent thinking space.
