Tachinomi, also known as standing bars, are staples in Japan. They are ideal places for the fast-paced, convenience-driven lifestyles of Japanese people and while previously reserved for businessmen, they are increasing in popularity with women and young professionals too! These bars are colorful places for a quick drink and bite to eat.
This month we are proud to welcome Tanaka Standing Bar from Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture for two nights of special dinners in collaboration with Sake Central team. Join us for an evening of authentic Japanese snacking and discover why Tanaka Standing Bar is so loved by Hyogo sake brewers, how it inspired Sake Samurai Elliot Faber to start Sake Central and what our chef Lok Yan Li learned about soulful Japanese food when training with their team in Akashi prior to Sake Central launch in 2017.
