There are always things in life running out of your control and you can’t find a solution at the moment. As the saying goes “there is no smoke without fire”, where there is a cause, there will be a consequence.

Shen Congwen (沈從文), a Chinese litterateur, mentioned in his novel “邊城” (Border Town) : “凡事都有偶然的湊巧，結果卻又如宿命般的必然” (which means everything in life happened by chance but the outcome is destined, like fate), a simple and straight forward sentence explained every single issue happening to us.

Seika Studio along with 7 of our artist fellows are trying to discover the linkage between “accidental” and “fate” with the theme “Expected Unexpected”, and share with you the conflicts, happiness, sadness, and other emotions derived in between. The media involved in this exhibition include painting, Illustration, metal work, installation, video, sound and so on.
