Caillou 2025 was founded by Hong Kong comic artist On Nam (Mr. Tang Ho-yuen) in 2020. After a decade away from the comic industry, he returned with momentum and launched the event alongside the release of his book Gong Nam Stories: 200 Figures of Hong Kong Comics.
Riding on the success of “OnNam Market Stall,” the idea of promoting Hong Kong comics — and even passing on a wide range of cultural forms — began to take shape. After two years of preparation and support from various sectors, the event was officially renamed Caillou 2025 in 2022 and successfully held at the PLAYMAXX store on Nam Cheong Street in Sham Shui Po.
Since then, Caillou 2025 has gradually developed into an annual celebration. Through a carnival-style multicultural art exhibition, it brings together creators and artists from different fields, fostering creative cultural development while elevating Hong Kong’s cultural and artistic presence in the region.
The fourth edition of Caillou 2025 will be held for the first time at PMQ, Central, and on an even larger scale. This year’s event features over 40 participating groups, including renowned comic and cultural creators and artists from Hong Kong and overseas. The goal of the event is to break boundaries across eras and regions, promoting and preserving cultural arts through this platform.
