This summer, PMQ, together with a local architect – Kevin Siu (AaaM), teaching artist – Zoe Liu and curator of PMQ Taste Library – Andy Lai, has tailored a 4-day summer camp to unleash your kids’ big imagination! Participating as little villagers, kids will be guided to develop their worldview for an ideal happy village. Having fun with architecture, art and food – elements closely related to our daily lives – kids will enjoy a journey of appreciation, observation, exploration, critical thinking, and at the same time learn to co-create.

The happiest learning space is right around us.

Summer Camp Schedule

  • Day 1 (4 hours) – Welcome to The Village of Amusement

Open up kids’ imaginations with games, art creation and role play. Kids will learn to present themselves, appreciate others and start co-creating their ideal village.

  • Day 2 (2 hours) – Play in City

Take a mini excursion and play in the city! It’s the time to guide the imagination into reality. Kids will be guided to make record of their journey by observing, feeling and thinking, and they will slowly find the intersection between fact and fiction.

  • Day 3 (2 hours) – The Creative Bites

Explore edible creativity. Create with food, and explore through the five senses. Kids will bring imagination into a bodily scale by designing cuisine that reflects the culture of their own village.

  • Day 4 (3-4 hours) – My Village Tale

How is village life? It’s the day for kids to share their stories.

  • Follow up workshop and exhibition

Workshops will be held in Dec 2018 – Jan 2019, when kids will be invited to transform their creations and documentation made during the camp into artwork with summer camp tutors. The works will be showcased in PMQ as a grand finale.
