A book is like a friend. We understand the world and life, or even observe ourselves through texts, and have a deep realization of oneself that we are not alone. PMQ invites different people from design and culture sectors to recommend a book, so that you can enrich yourselves as book therapy.

Why would you recommend this book?

Humming Publishing: The cold winter passed and the early spring is now. When life seemed to be a mess last year, it is the time to clear all negativity and start a new year.

Season as life is like a circle, repeating itself again and again. In the vibrant spring, as the spring wind rises, let’s talk about the decluttering in life.

The term "終活" originated from the 2011 Japanese documentary《Ending Note》. Director Mami Sunada filmed the days before his father's death. He began to pack personal belongings, arrange his own funeral, and say his last goodbyes to his loved ones. The author of 《輕物質生活》 is also the first consultant in Hong Kong who promotes decluttering arrangement. She believes that the most important thing in life is not what is discarded, but what is left.

It may seem like irrational to plan for our own death, but since we have spent our entire life making the best arrangements for ourselves, such as entering school, seeking jobs, devoting ourselves in family, financial planning..., when it is our time to leave the world, we also deserve the power and right to choose to pass away in elegance, don’t we?
