A book is like a friend. We understand the world and life, or even observe ourselves through texts, and have a deep realization of oneself that we are not alone. PMQ invites different people from design and culture sectors to recommend a book, so that you can enrich yourselves as book therapy.

Why would you recommend this book?

周家盈:I remember when I was young, we did not watch TV at home, so I did not know what shows were live at the prime time. But my classmates loved to talk about the drama and also the hot gossip. In order to have a common topic, I constantly caught up with the entertainment news. But the problem came again.

I didn't care who had plastic surgery at all. If I said I was not interested, and my classmates would think I am weird. The white cats in "shiro neko kuro neko" (White Cats and Black Cats) are highly praised for their beautiful colors, and people do not often pay attention to the boring black cats.

But when two cats walked into a sea of colorful flowers, black became most eye-catching. We have been measured by appearances, grades, money, abilities, etc. since we were young. We often forget what the "black" unpleasant things. These things are actually unique to us all. When there is darkness, we see light. We need each other and learn to be each other's needs.
