Gallery tete will host the first solo exhibition of ceramic artist Ryutaro Yamada starting December 13 at PMQ.
Born in 1984, Mr. Yamada runs his studio in the mountainous region of Fujino, Kanagawa Prefecture, where he creates using wood, oil, and gas kilns. His works beautifully exhibit the raw power of clay while also possessing a serene aesthetic, reflecting a broad and unwavering passion.
Until now, we have mainly showcased Mr. Yamada’s iconic pieces, such as Kohiki , Hakeme, and black glaze. This time, however, the exhibition will feature a richer variety of works showcasing natural glazes, ash-covered pieces, charred textures, and vibrant fire colors.
The gradient surfaces of the ceramics are a powerful expression born from a deep understanding of materials and a continuous dialogue with nature, highlighting his sincere commitment to his craft.
We invite everyone to personally experience the quietly resonant everyday objects created by Mr. Yamada.
