Travel and reading are alike: both take us beyond the familiar and help us see the world differently.

For years, whenever I visited a city whose language I did not speak, I went to the children’s section of a local bookstore. Through picture books, I tried to understand how children discover their surroundings and imagine “home” through stories and images.

Ten years ago, inspired by this curiosity, I began creating local picture books for this city—reflecting on what I had seen around the world and on my own understanding of home.

A decade later, my journeys have expanded, and so has my collection. Now, with “home” as the theme, I am presenting thirty picture books from around the world at the PMQ Picture Book Gallery, organized into three sections: “Journey,” “City” (people and animals), and “Home.”

Each page we turn opens a new journey that carries us to faraway places and brings us closer to our own sense of home.
