Qipology (pronounced “chē′pol’ogy”) applies a contemporary approach to the traditional Chinese qipao / cheongsam, a figure hugging dress that characterizes women’s femininity, beauty and grace. We design with the vision to reinvent qipaos so they are modern, wearable and chic at the same time.

DESIGNER’S BACKGROUND

Founder & designer Julie Liu grew up in Hong Kong, a city easily described as where East meets West. Upon graduating from the University of Warwick in the UK with a business degree and Istituto Marangoni with a Masters degree in Fashion Buying, she quickly returned to her home city where she gained experiences from Pedder Group, Dolce & Gabbana and DFS, LVMH. In 2017, Julie decided to follow her passion and step out of her comfort zone to launch Qipology as she aims to bring back the “chic” into wearing qipaos, an important part of her Chinese heritage.
