The Moomins have been popular characters since the release of their comic strips during WWII.They were later made into animation and until recently, being produced as a movie! What’s so special then about the Moomins that made them become the companion of children all over the world for over 70 years?
PMQ announces the screening of animated film MOOMINS ON THE RIVIERA, the debut of the “From Graphic Novels to the Big Screen: “MOOMINS ON THE RIVIERA” Screening” in collaboration with MOViE MOViE (Channel 116 of NowTV), there will be a sharing session after screening in Qube (2/F) on 30 July, 2017. Let MOViE MOViE’s General Manager Joycelyn Choi, Veteran Art Director Felix Ip and activity Coordinator of “Little Green Feet Reading Club” Sheren Cheng give you an insight into the criteria of how animation can make it to the big screen and also the importance of animation in children’s education.

The Moomins, Snorkmaiden and Little My, in search of adventures of their own, set sail for the Riviera, where, after a journey fraught with menacing storms and desert island dangers, Snorkmaiden is dazzled by the attentions of a playboy and Moomin learns that jealousy’s sting is the most painful of all. When Moominpappa befriends an aristocrat and adopts the name ‘de Moomin’, an exasperated Moominmamma retires to the relative calm of their trusty old boat, to wait for her family to come to their senses. For the very first time, the unity of the Moomins is threatened. This is the first animated feature film based on Tove Jansson’s original comic strips.
