ARTIST’S BACKGROUND
Kailing’s love for art and music began at very young age. Having received her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Science from London King’s College and Royal Holloway, her technique in paintings are self-taught.
She is also a talented musician, classically trained in piano and Chinese violin, which brings other emotional perspectives to her work.
In 2016, Kailing moved back to Hong Kong after spending two decades in the UK, when she began to practice traditional methods of oil painting. She leverages oil with acrylic paints and pastel, adding layers and layers of drama and tension into the scene.
