Black Sugar in PMQ represents an appreciation of shadow and subtlety, closely relating to the concept of sabi. By adopting the theme in this room through materials, lighting, plants and tablewares, we hope the customer can be immersed in the space and focus on the tasting of the food and drink. It is almost like going in a theatrical space to experience a tasting journey presented on the coffee bar as a stage.
In 2015, the founder William and Diana leaving their job as the Project Manager and Fashion Buyer, they want to start their own business of what they always love. Coffee and Shiba Inu! Finally, in 2016 they opened their first 20 seats cafe on Peace Ave locate in Ho Man Tin.
William is also an active ambassador in coffee industry. He serves as a Certified Sensory Judge for World Barista Championship and World Brewers Cup, two of the largest and well known coffee competition in World as well as Head Judges in most of Hong Kong Coffee Competitions.
