With an exquisite eye for exploring newness, kapok is now widely recognized as the alternative wunderkind in hong kong retail scene and acts as the perfect curator for the gathering of all exceptional local brands. Arnault Castel was born and raised in france – first founded kapok in 2006 as an antidote to the perceived blandness of hong kong retail scene. kapok focuses on designers and brands whose work reflects their attitude towards quality craftsmanship and creativity in design. Arnault has developed an extensive knowledge and understanding of the asian consumer goods and retail environment since 1996. With outstanding knowledge and experience, Arnault decided to start a series of collaborations with various hong kong designers for the pmq project, gathering the best of local design.
