Vegetable is plant, a pot of cactus is a plant, a fallen leaf on the street is also a plant, how well do you know the plant family?
Discover the basics of growing plants, and engage in an artistic experience with plants in the following four workshops:
1. Green B Urban Farming Workshop
Let your children be an urban farmer! Through a series of games, children will learn the basics of organic farming and planting. Everyone can bring home a seedling plus a little self-made up-cycled pot!
2. Veggie Stamp Tote Bag Workshop
Core of cabbage, corn stems, okra tops and left over squeezed lemon – these non-edible vegetable parts often end up in the trash. They can actually become magical colour pens! Join our workshop and let your children create their own unique tote bag with these vegetable colour pens while learning about the various fruits and vegetables!
3. Recycled Seed Paper Workshop
Have you ever tried growing a plant on recycled paper? It’s easy – just mix some seeds in the paper pulp. The moisture and nutrients from the paper pulp will grow the seeds into small plants, graciously extending the life of the waste paper. Let your children learn about paper recycling, planting and an innovative way of waste reduction!
4. Twig Tambourine Workshop
Old tree branches, seashells from the beach, buttons of different shapes and sizes, ring pulls from soft drink cans, knitting yarns and threads – let’s turn these used items into creative, colourful DIY musical instruments! If you take the time to look further into the details, you’ll see a lot of inspiring ideas from our everyday life. Explore with your children and learn to appreciate little things and people around!
