This two day workshop, held by Japanese lacquerware master, Fusui Miyahara, will teach the basics of mending broken ceramics with lacquer and gold or silver powder.

Kintsukuroi is “”The art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer and understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken.”"

In Japan, lacquerware masters do not only save their skills for the creation of new pieces but also repair broken ceramics that are deemed to be worth saving.

Please submit any photos of broken ceramics that you would like to repair and we will ask the master if it is suitable for the workshop. Otherwise, we will provide the broken pieces for repair.
