The speakers will offer their perspective of how materials can be applied to interior design. They will also share their own experience of using special materials to create a uniqueness in the market. In the process, what are the challenges that our speakers have faced and how did they overcome these challenges?

Biography of speakers:

Master: NISHIMURA-SHOTEN
NISHIMURA-SHOTEN specializes in Hikibaku. Hikibaku is a technique that involves making gold yarn by finely cutting Mitsumata (chrysantha) paper that has gold, silver and/or other metals glued to it with lacquer, and weaving the gold yarn into silk. In hikibaku, a variety of colors can be achieved by heating or treating the yarn, which leads to hikibaku art.

HK Guest Speakers: Seiki Mori
Seiki Mori is lead curator, executive director and founder of STUDIO ARRT. He is a member of Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association, Japan. He is part-time lecturer of Birmingham City University’s BA Interior Design course, a Hong Kong Associate of “Good Design Award” and Chairman of the United Voice Hong Kong.
