Design is always considered as a method for problem solving. Learning design is actually learning a methodology, and graphic design is no exception. Design has its own rationale and system and is not just about creating beautiful visuals with softwares.

In this talk, graphic designers Ray Lau and Renatus Wu will talk about how graphic designers can learn through reading and will share with us their recommended reading lists that cover design and other subjects.

By sharing the books he has read at different career stages, from classic texts, portfolio books to other titles on printing and craft, Ray will explain how his reading preference changes with the times and his personal growth, and how it constantly inspires and influences his design practice.

Then, Renatus will introduce books of non-design category but they are still inspirational amidst the era of overwhelming visuals and homogeneity.

The two designers will then have a conversation about the development of design books, the booming online platforms such as Pinterest and Behance, and how graphic designers can get inspired in daily life.
